Tread
The tread of the Scorpion Enduro M consists of lugs whose height and spacing have been developed together with the physical and mechanical properties of the rubber compound to offer uncompromising performance in variable conditions on compact and loose surfaces. The additional "bridges" support the lugs and facilitate mud release in wet conditions.

Compound - SmartGRIP Gravity
Pirelli developed this compound to meet the demands of modern riding styles, where higher speeds and more powerful bikes require softer cushioning and controlled feedback.

Based on the properties of lignin, a natural chemical component produced when waste paper is broken down and patented by Pirelli, it offers all the benefits of its XC-oriented counterpart, the classic SmartGRIP compound, but combines them in a softer durometer package.

Lignin is not only a naturally occurring additive, but also improves the mechanical properties of the rubber, resulting in greater stability than any other compound with the same robustness.

This improvement is not at the expense of the other properties of the SmartGRIP compound, namely chemical adhesion: the rider benefits from consistent performance of the tyre throughout its life, even under the higher stresses encountered in downhill riding, for example. Together, these characteristics enabled Pirelli's engineers to develop a rubber compound that increases both rolling behaviour and grip and reliability, all at the same time. All this makes the bike lighter, faster and easier to control. In fewer words: more fun!

HardWALL (HW)
The structure features bead-to-bead protection and a hard rubber insert directly over the bead for added reliability during aggressive riding. The multiple reinforcements embedded in the carcass developed for modern bikes aim to either improve structural reliability or provide more support at lower pressures.
